About Me

I am a singer, songwriter and music teacher (previously I was the vocal coach and musical director of Blackfriars Theatre Academy in Boston, where I taught children from aged four to eighteen.(but left to concentrate on my duties as a councillor).

I studied business and marketing, but have always had a passion for musical and creative pursuits, and I have been singing since I was twelve. I have also been involved in business and industry for the last fifteen years. From managing multi million pound turnover businesses for well known UK brands, to running my own business. Previous roles include being an Area Manager for a well known retail brand, where I was responsible for forty branches and over 450 personnel.

I have a passion for my family, history, Genealogy, and Animals and I always try to see light and humour in my every day life.

I have been fortunate to sing and perform in many high profile events and my first album sold in HMV and on Apple I-tunes.

I am always looking for ways of improvement and how we can make positive changes in our lives and our communities. I believe that we can achieve what ever we desire it is all down to having that personal belief and a lot of handwork of course. For this reason I became a Conservative.

I am also vice-chairman of the Boston branch Conservatives, and my role is to focus on helping to shape policy and also campaigning. I feel the time has come to look for new councillors and politicians "who are ordinary people with life experience, a big heart, a passion for wanting to help people and to make a positive contribution to the borough,"

My life philosophy is that we always have a choice, to add a positive or negative chapter to the lives of those we interact with, and I choose the positive.

Lastly I like to bring a little (or a lot) of happiness to all the people (and animals) whom I may meet along the way.

Sheep and conkers...

'Baa Baa Rainbow sheep, have you any wool, yes sir, yes sir, three bags full,'
has the country has gone mad? In this modern day society of political correctness, even our nursery rhymes have come under fire, Safety-conscious schools are outlawing playground games enjoyed for generations, meaning the death of the game playing 'conkers.' In Boston let us lead the way by returning to a common sense approach and focus on issues people really do care about.

Boston North West Ward

This Ward covers areas; Brothertoft, Witham, Fenside, Holland Fen and parts of Swineshead.
This ward has some very beautiful landmarks from the River Witham to the quaint churches of St Gilbert in Brothertoft, the All Saints in Holland Fen and not forgetting all the scenic walks, (Great for taking our dogs to).

Expenses...

Governments can always find money for Wars, MP's Expense's, Public Sector Pensions, Red tape and Quangos. Should not money be spent more wisely, on Healthcare, more doctors, so shorter waiting lists, more police on the beat, more recreational facilities for children, more support for the elderly, for small businesses, more career advice and apprenticeship schemes for school leavers.
Let us start at grass roots level with our own councillors, why do they need free parking? When they get paid to be a councillor, when claiming travel allowance to meetings, why not car share with other councillors to save costs? There are many ways in which we can save money and in this economic climate we need to be more frugal, after all it is 'our' money to spend.

Music.....helps to pass the time

We have all sat in our cars waiting at what feels like hours' in the congested roads of Boston, and if I did not have my imagination or the music on the radio to pass the time, then I would go mad, I fully support and champion any schemes to improve the highways in Boston. We must keep the issue alive and look at a new approach and having the support of a National Party like the Conservatives can only be a positive thing in acheiving improvement.

I believe the children are our future......teach them well and let them lead the way

As I worked with children and young adults I understand the frustrations that they feel, we need to look at ways of supporting our children more, working as a community, we all have something to offer. Encouraging local businesses to offer work experience and apprenticeship schemes for school leavers in Boston, or via means of providing better recreational facilities, or finding a better use for existing facilities, these are areas that we need to look into. I have lots of ideas in this area that I would like to implement. Since my election I have been involved in thecommunity and will keep you updated with all I have been up to on my blog.

He's got the whole world in his hands...

Diversity is very important and I believe that every community and country has things that we can learn from one another, the Conservative stance on Immigration is that 'we should be making eligible for admission 'those' who will benefit the economy.'
This is the right thing to do, especially considering our economic climate, other countries have tighter controls, so why shouldn't we?. We also need to be proud of our British values and not be afraid to 'positively' express them.

I organised a a three day music festival where all the proceeds will go to Boston's Homeless Charity Centrepoint Outreach.

The wheels on the bus go round and round...

But do they in the rural areas? Is there a sufficient Bus Service in the rural areas of Boston? Are people satisfied with this? If not this is an area that needs looking in to.

I have also been attending the Parish Council meetings at Holland Fen, Brothertoft and Amberhill and have been dealing with various issues that they have had in these rural wards.

What a load of rubbish....

Yes litter in Boston is an issue, there have been improvements recently, but we still have a long way to go, if a place is clean, tidy and looks good, it is more likely to instill pride in all of us in Boston, and make it more attractive to visitors. I will support and help develop any clean-up scheme or ways of improving the look of Boston.

Since my election and following my listening to the concerns of residents who live in the vicinity of a school, I had organised a monthly Clean-up campaign working with the schools in my (Now former) ward, the first of which will commence in September working along side the youths from Haven High Technology. I will still continue with this.

Elderly....

Another area that I care passionately about and believe that we need to focus on are is Caring for our elderly, isn't it heartbreaking when you hear or read how another elderly person has died through hypothermia, or how they cannot afford to put their heating on. We need to look at ways of supporting them. Some do not have relatives and can be a lonely existence, I will look at what schemes can be developed to help them and What facilities we currently have to use.

Finally.......

P.C Could also stand for; Police Constable we need to continue to support extra funding for community police officer and also getting more Police on the beat, We need to feel safe and know that our children are well protected. The Conservatives are pledging to help cut the red tape and paperwork involved in policing, to free up their time to get back on the beat.

P.C Should also be acronym for PUBLIC CONFIDENCE

Please vote for me, and you will rest assured that you will have a councillor who cares, is practical yet full of ideas and has the energy and enthusiasm to carry them out, who also has the support of a National major political party who is ready to hear, support, your views and suggestions.
